It was during a trip to the south of France in the late 1960s that Tom van der Bruggen, a Dutch antique dealer, fell in love with a ruined farm and decided to transform it into a castle. To visualise his project, he tried to make a scale model using wooden cubes. However, the cubes were too bulky to make a precise and realistic model, so he decided to create his own construction pieces.  One plank size (11.8 x 2.4 cm) to build anything and everything.  And that’s how KAPLA was born: the magic plank that can build anything!  A safe, creative, wooden construction toy. Young or grown up, alone or in groups, with family or friends, Kapla adapts to all ages and talents.  Sourced from sustainable forests of Southern France.  200 planks in this set in a wooden box with a book of suggestions.
